Licensing China (Shenzhen) evolved from the cartoon-IP licensing zone of the Guangzhou Toy Fair — China's longest-running toy show, founded in 1989. From 2020 the three shows moved to Shenzhen and were renamed the International Toy & Trendy-Play Expo, the International Baby Stroller & Maternal/Baby/Child Products Expo, and the International Licensing & Derivatives Expo (Shenzhen Toy Show, Shenzhen Baby Show and Shenzhen Licensing Show).

The 8th Licensing China runs 31 March - 2 April 2027 at Shenzhen World (Bao'an), organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) alongside the Shenzhen Toy Show and Baby Show. The 2026 cluster covered 130,000 sqm with 1,495 exhibitors from 8 countries and 77,031 buyers from 83 countries.
